Update on my fiancĂ©’s progress. He finally received a letter in September telling him he “qualified” to receive copies of his adoption records and to send a SASE and $38.50. These were submitted about 2 weeks ago.
I read on another site a woman who made the same request in late June has been told by the Hawaiian family court that it could be 4-6 months before she receives the same letter as they have been overwhelmed.
I guess we’ll see.

my guy put in a request back in March to Hawaiian family court to see his adoption records and his request became lost in limbo for several months waiting for the Gov to say yeah or nay on this bill. what we have been told as of today is they are going to send notices by mail that the records are now open and how much copies of them will cost.
