We support the Avella Bill, a clean bill that restores the right of all New York adoptees to their original birth certificates. Sen. Avella should be a member of the Governor’s adoptee rights study group. Call today and ask that he be appointed.
Call Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office urging him to give Senator Tony Avella a seat on the NYSDOH – New York State Health Department’s work group on #adoption. Senator Avella is a key member of the legislature and has a clean bill pending on this issue—it is the bill that we support—and Senator Avella deserves to take part in discussing the future of that legislation.
A sample message would be:
“In his veto of A5036B Governor Cuomo directed the Department of Health to develop a work group to study the issue of adoptee rights and original birth certificates. Senator Tony Avella already has a strong adoptee rights bill pending (S5169A), which I support. The governor should give Senator Avella a seat on the work group so that he can represent us on this issue.”
