Thanks, Alice. Nothing will make everyone happy, but there is a limit! There are a bunch of newcomers showing up at these online meetings who have shown no interest in the draft language in the past. They came riding in on their hobbyhorses dragging in all sorts of objections and ideas that have nothing to do with the intent of the document, and they don’t listen to the actual problem and attempted solutions. They come off as clueless do-good liberals (which are as bad as clueless do-good conservatives). It’s all about them. All they carp about is how it would affect their “constituents” while in truth, it won’t affect them at all. It’s very frustrating. My concern has been that their yabbering will influence the outcome of the final version. I have been assured that it won’t, so we’ll see. A new draft is due Saturday, I believe. — Marley
