The American Adoption Congress opposes Iowa bill SF621 with proposed redaction amendments. AAC supports only clean legislation to restore the rights of adopted individuals. Discriminatory amendments including but not limited to redaction perpetuates secrecy in adoption and does not align with the AAC legislative policy and current best practices in adoption.
