We are heartbroken. We have lost our beautiful Mari–our friend, our comrade, a true bright star. A force to be reckoned with here, Ireland, and wherever the adopted fight for justice.
We just received the following message from Mari’s children:
Good afternoon all, it’s Jessica, Kerry and Alex again.
Unfortunately we have to post an update that will come as a shock to all. Sadly, Mom lost her battle Sunday morning. She was surrounded by Alex and Jessica when she passed peacefully at 9am.
We are overwhelmed with the support and love all have shown in her final weeks. In her last moments Mom saw how much she was loved and couldn’t believe it herself. We can though, as amazing doesn’t even begin to describe the wonderful person mom was.
Her children are together now, supporting each other surrounded by all of your love.
We will plan to hold a celebration of life in Philly in a few weeks. Her family will also plan on a visit to Ireland to lay her and Josie to rest, together.
Thank you all so much for your words, generosity and love for our Mom. We’ll get in touch once details are finalized.
