As I mentioned Monday, Texas was about to drop a clean bill for the 2023-2024 session. It’s up and out!
HB2006. sponsored by Rep Cody Harris, is nearly identical to 2021’s HB1386 That bill passed the House with flying colors. 144-1! Despite overwhelming support in the Senate, it did not receive a hearing because…well, because it’s Texas.
HB2006 is this simple: It restores the right of all Texas-born adoptees to their original pre-adoptive birth certificates, without restrictions or conditions.
